Who are we looking for
The Volunteering New Zealand Board is looking for three new members and it is seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:
- NFP governance experience essential, with NFP experience vital
- Chair experience from a community sector board
- HR and legal experience
- Corporate fundraising experience
- Commercial acumen
What to expect as a Volunteering New Zealand Board member?
As a Volunteering New Zealand Board member you can expect the following:
- To attend quarterly face-to-face board meetings, and at least two other two hour online board meetings.
- In addition to board meetings, you will contribute to working groups and attend working group meetings on governance matters.
- Travel to meetings will be required, and your travel and expenses will be covered.
- An opportunity to contribute to the leadership of your national peak body that provides a voice on volunteering.
- Your first board meeting, online on Thursday 21st of November. This will be a zoom meeting.
- To attend a two-day face-to-face board meeting and strategy planning session in person in February 2024.
How to nominate
Should you wish to nominate yourself or someone else, nominees must submit:
- Volunteering New Zealand Board Nomination Form, and
- A one-page summary of the skills and experience that you would bring to the Board, and any other relevant information.
Nominations close at 12:00 pm, 21 October 2024.
Should you wish to nominate yourself or someone else please submit your scanned board nomination form and one-page summary of your skills and experience by email to office@volunteeringnz.org.nz before 12:00 pm, 21 October 2024.
Nominations can be made by Volunteering New Zealand Member organisations.
Election voting process
If an election is required, Volunteering New Zealand member organisations will be invited to vote for their preferred nominees from 21 October. Results will be announced at our Annual General Meeting on Monday 11 November 2024.
