This membership networking programme is for Volunteer Managers or Co-ordinators who are key enablers of volunteering. We know that to support Volunteer Managers is to grow volunteering. Volunteer Managers can often feel isolated in their role, and this programme helps to address this.

This programme is delivered online. You will be matched with a peer that also works in the community and voluntary sector. This programme is free to join and runs for six months (excluding the festive season) from September 2024 to May 2025. You will meet online once a month for six months with your peer.

>Note that this programme is for members of Volunteering New Zealand only<

What are the benefits for participants?

  • Increase effectiveness for peers in their roles, by developing volunteer management skills, knowledge and confidence.
  • Build relationships across the sector, reduce isolation and duplication of effort.
  • Meet others on the programme throughout the six months with online opportunities to connect and learn as a cohort.
  • Improve networks and connections with leaders in the community sector.
  • Monthly chat with your matched peer for six months.
  • Support from a dedicated Programme Coordinator throughout the programme.

Feedback from previous participants:

“I find each meeting really helpful and my peer is full of useful information and is generous with sharing documents and suggestions. It has really been a huge help as I came into this role with no volunteer leadership experience.” Peer from a Hospice

“The sharing is going well and is balanced with work and personal, and my peer and I use our time up easily and we give each other time to share openly about what we are doing, and how our work is going, what`s working and what`s not working, and what we are doing about this.” Peer from Hate Hone St Johns
