Michelle Kitney joined Volunteering New Zealand in 2017, and has been our Chief Executive | Tumu Whakarae since 2019.
She is an enabling and inclusive sector leader who has demonstrated her commitment to amplifying the voices of volunteers and advocating for greater recognition of volunteers and volunteering. She loves her job.
Michelle has worked in a range of sectors including social enterprise, within the public sector and the publishing industry. She has a range of experience including regulatory and compliance, mar-coms and social marketing, engagement, and research. She has also volunteered extensively in community organisations that offer extra support and services to whānau and children. Currently she is a trustee of Bellyful New Zealand.
