Membership of Volunteering NZ is open to volunteer centres and national or other organisations for whom there would be benefit in membership in a national body of organisations committed to volunteering. Today, VNZ membership number 14 Volunteer centres and 70 national bodies across the countr and all members agree to uphold the vision, definition, beliefs and values of Volunteering NZ. .  Membership of Volunteering NZ does not substitute for nor preclude membership of a regional volunteer centre.

There is no membership fee for any organisation willing to join.

• Priority for the provision any promotional material educational and other resources produced by or made available through Volunteering NZ.
• Special reduced subscription rate to the Australian Journal of Volunteering.
• Possibility to place your volunteering opportunities on VolunteerNow website which provides the potential volunteers to browse for an volunteering opportunity that interests them.
• Access to information on trends and best practice for volunteering and volunteer management.

• Opportunity to connect to the national and international volunteering scene through information, educational workshops and conferences.
